The Information Officer is the first point of contact for members, students, the media, other organisations in the infertility field and the general public. This position is accountable to the BICA executive committee. This role is divided into several areas, web contacts through this website, telephone enquiries through the Information Line from the public or media, maintenance of the website, emailing members as required and responding to written enquiries.
The Information Officer is able to help guide anyone through all the information and services on the website and those offered through BICA. She can direct anyone requesting counselling to the list of counsellors on the website. She is able to advise callers on training opportunities provided by BICA or known to us about related issues. The Information Officer send out information to members on current issues of policy, research or practice. However those contacting the Information Line should note that BICA's Information Officer is not a trained Infertility Counsellor; she can guide callers to useful resources, mainly our own members, but cannot offer counselling or support herself.
