BICA Advanced Course for Fertility Counsellors,
CPCAB Accredited
 
An advanced course for all fertility counsellors wishing to further develop their knowledge, skills and experience in fertility counselling.
 
This course is suitable for:
* Counsellors who have completed BICA Foundation course for Fertility      Counselling
* Counsellors seeking BICA Accreditation for the first time
* All BICA Accredited counsellors seeking re-accreditation
 
Course Aims: 
To provide insight and develop understanding, experience and skills to ensure fertility counselling competence in the increasingly complex issues that arise in relation to:
 
·      Diversity and its impact on the experience of infertility, its treatment and reproductive choices, with a focus on the counsellor’s professional development and reflexivity in practice
·      Safeguarding in the context of fertility work
·      Fertility Preservation: its growth as a reproductive option for a range of people including those who are single or transgender or undergoing oncology treatment
·      Sperm, Egg and Embryo Donation – consideration of essential knowledge drawn from research and the issues arising from the opening of the HFEA register to donor-conceived adults and DNA testing. Implications for the work of fertility counsellors
·      Complex issues in Surrogacy and changing family formations. Considerations for fertility counsellors
 
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore issues and practice skills learned through role play, group work and experiential activities.
 
Essential Criteria:  Completion of the BICA Foundation course
 
 
Date: 26th and 27th September 2024
 
Time: 9:15am to 4:30pm UK – Friday and Saturday
 
Delivered: Online - Cameras must remain on for the duration of the course
 
 
Fees: BICA members £100.00 Non-members £300.00

BICA Deferral Policy

Terms and conditions

If BICA is required to cancel a course, 100% of the course fee will be refunded.

If a participant cancels a booking the following will apply:

  • 100% refund if cancelled 33 – 45 days before the course but a 5% administration fee will apply
  • 50% refund if cancelled 17 - 32 days before the course
  • 0% refund if cancelled 0 -16 days before the course.

This policy reflects the fees that BICA would incur should a course be cancelled due to participants cancelling their booking.
